Yesterday at around 9:30 a.m. RCMP received an urgent request to attend the intersection of 17th Avenue and Larch Street.
Officers that attended the scene found two adult males, one of which was suffering from an injury to the head.
Police believe that the two males were walking on 17th Avenue when a lone male wearing a mask approached them and demanded their phones. The two men refused and the suspect produced what was believed to be a hammer.
One victim was struck on the head before the suspect fled empty-handed.
Police have not yet located the suspect. He is described as:
- Caucasian male
- 20 to 30-years-old
- Wearing a red jacket, loose black pants and a mask covering his face
Police would like to remind the public that the best course of action in cases like this is to cooperate.
