The City of Kamloops and the City’s Lived Experience Committee will be hosting the 5th annual Project Connect.

This event will take place at the Valley First Lounge at the Sandman Centre tomorrow from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m..

According to the city, this event is aimed at connecting people who are struggling to make ends meet with services and support that can help them improve their lives.

“Ultimately, this event is about building community,” said Ty Helgason, the City’s Project Manager – Housing and Homelessness. “It’s about recognizing the contribution every individual makes to our community and providing the opportunity to make connections.”

The free event will be host to a wide variety of events, including:

• a free BBQ provided by the Valleyview Overlanders Lions Club
• free flu shots from Interior Health
• games, activities, and giveaways by various community agencies
• live music
• free bike repairs

Project Connection will be taking place in the middle of Homelessness Action Week, which is an annual event dedicated to bringing public awareness to the issue of homelessness within the province.
