On Saturday, Prince George will be hosting the RBC Training Ground to discover the next generation of Olympic athletes.

The RBC Training Ground works in conjunction with RBC, CBC and the Canadian Olympic Committee with the purpose of identifying and funding high performance Canadian athletes.
Athletes all across Canada will compete in four exercises:
- Power: vertical jump – to assess the lower body
- Speed: 10/30/40 metre sprint – to assess running velocity
- Strength: isometric mid-thigh pull – to assess general full-body strength
- Endurance: 20 metre multi-stage shuttle run – to assess full-body endurance
Those who meet the performance benchmarks set by national sport officials will be invited to attend the RBC Training Ground final.
The top 100 from each region will be invited to attend the final event in hopes of receiving funding and support for their Olympic dream.
At the final, athletes will compete in six exercises:
- Speed: 40/30 metre sprint
- Speed: six-second bike sprint
- Strength: concept dyno
- Power: single board jump
- Power: standing triple jump
- Endurance: arm leg bike
Saturday’s event will take place at the Charles Jago Northern Sport Centre from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Those between the ages of 14 and 25 are eligible to compete and can register online.
