The Prince George RCMP have charged one person and recovered a stolen vehicle following a robbery that occurred yesterday morning.

On March 7, just after 6 a.m., the RCMP received a report of a robbery that occurred outside a residence near the corner of Redwood Street and Strathcona Avenue.

According to police, two masked men forcibly stole cash and a vehicle from an adult male in the area.

The victim then ran to a nearby convenience store and contacted police.

The initial search for the vehicle was unsuccessful.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on March 8, a member of the Prince George RCMP’s General Duty Section attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle matching the description of the stolen car near the corner of Malaspina Avenue and Domano Boulevard.

The driver ignored police and failed to stop.

A few minutes later, the suspect vehicle was located near the corner of Cowart Road and Highway 16 West.

Another attempt to pull over the vehicle was made.

The driver was successfully pulled over and a 35-year-old male and two female passengers, aged 35 and 37 were found in the vehicles.

The vehicle was confirmed to be the stolen car from the previous morning.

All three were taken into custody without incident.

Boyd Allison Mattess has since been charged by Provincial Crown Counsel with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Mattess is set to appear in court later today.

The two females were released without charge.
