RCMP in Prince George were called to a local hotel around 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

They responded to a report of an adult man behaving in a bizarre manner at the Sandman Hotel on Recplace Drive.

The man was allegedly running around the lobby and had attempted to punch a staff member.

Officers arrested the man upon arrival, although he actively resisted their efforts to get him into handcuffs.

As a precautionary measure, he was transported to hospital to ensure his well being.

The 31-year-old Prince George man is being charged with assault and resisting arrest.

He was held in custody and appeared in provincial court on Wednesday.
