It’ll stay hot today, but the skies could get interesting.
A day that’s starting with blue skies will see some clouds roll in this afternoon and those clouds may bring some inclement weather with them.
“A weather pattern change is in store today. Sun to start but when the upper ridge over BC shifts east, we will start to see increasing cloud this afternoon,” explains Wesla English, NowMedia meteorologist.
“The breakdown of high pressure will also allow for the chance of showers in the region with the risk of thundershowers. It will be breezy at times this afternoon and evening.”
English says daytime highs will remain around 30°C today, but will gradually shift towards more seasonal daytime highs by Friday.
As of 7 a.m., it’s 14°C in the sunshine with just a gentle breeze and a UV index of only 1.
That UV index will shoot up to a very high 9 throughout the day, however, while the pollen index is moderate.
Happy hump day Kelowna, we’re halfway to the weekend!
