  • Poll: What is the best option to ease traffic congestion in Kelowna?

    The road shoulders of Highway 97 in West Kelowna could be expanded to become dedicated bus lanes, according to a report headed to city council.

    As a part of West Kelowna’s transit service review which is scheduled to begin in 2023, city staff will be pitching a variety of ideas to BC Transit about how to improve transit services.

    City staff say the expansion of the highway could increase the number of trips on route 97, which travels from UBCO to West Kelowna, and reduce traffic congestion by allowing regional and inter-regional buses to travel in dedicated lanes.
