We ran a poll asking our readers if the ‘Freedom Rallies’ in Stuart Park should be stopped.
Out of 776 votes, the majority said yes.
55.93% of voters said yes, 43.17% said no, and 0.90% said unsure.
Here’s what they had to say:
Freedom Rallies at a public park are totally rediculous. NOT the place, should be for all people to enjoy the park.
With permits, no reason why they shouldn’t express their free thoughts. Without permits, NO NO NO Just Like everyone else
Hire back all unvaccinated healthcare workers if you want it to stop and make for discrimination against the unvaccinated illegal.
These rallies disrupt traffic and business in the area. The park should be for the enjoyment of its citizens and families, the last thing we need there are these loud, aggressive agitators. Ban them please!
nuisance, promotes hate and disinformation, blocks businesses, prevents people from peacefully walking or driving anywhere near their 'rallies' we can no longer feel safe in this are when these angry people are near
Peaceful protests should always be encouraged. With our governments being more disconnected from every day people it feels that peaceful protests are the only voice that folks have. As far as I know they have not vandalized public or private property. Homeless people do this every day. With no recourse.
It is a free country and these lies and wrong information all given in regards to the scamdamic need to stop. Who ever wants to listen or see it goes there, if not interested avoid that area for the time being. Funny enough everything else is accepted and tolerated but not to listen to the truth.
Stopping this would put restrictions on our freedoms and rights as Canadians.
They should find a worthwhile hobby rather then irritate the public.
This is a common space for all residents of the city to use and not just for freedom rallies but for many different sorts of events. My goodness- what’s the world coming to if the city and or the government starts to tell us exactly what we can do and where we can do it, essentially segregating and giving preferred treatment to some groups and not to all. This court order is a slippery slope towards taking away all voices.
I don’t like them but stopping them is an infringement on their rights. Enforce the law but allow them to continue.
