This Sunday is May 5th, also known as Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in Mexico to commemorate the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire. 

In my opinion, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in Canada as a reason to drink margaritas and eat tacos!

Decorating for this date can be even more fun than actually consuming copious amounts of Mexican cuisine.

If you want to be on trend for this year’s festivities, pink is going to be your answer! From flowers to drinks (Watermelon Margaritas are hot this year!), pink will be a dominant colour.

Keep the large pieces neutral (linens, furniture, backdrops) and add in themed pieces in pastels and lots of pink tones (accessories, flowers, glass wear) for a modern May the 5th.

The benefit of keeping the theme a bit more subdued is the ability to carry the decor throughout spring and into summer- and who wouldn’t want to spend the summer celebrating margaritas and tacos!?!
