British Columbia definitely dealt with some inclement weather over the past week or two, but Newfoundland is putting us to shame.

The country’s easternmost province has been absolutely battered by a storm today, with the capital St. John’s even declaring a state of emergency.

That means all vehicles were ordered off the roads and all businesses were shut down.
 

Seeing some of the pictures shared to social media, leaving the house wasn’t even an option for most, as a wall of snow outside most doors had people trapped inside their homes.

Meteorologists called for 70 centimetres of snow, which is just over two feet, but it appears as though a lot more than that fell.

It’s apparently been dubbed the storm of the century and we certainly won’t argue with that, because we’re very happy that we’re witnessing it from afar.
