This is some breaking news!

  • Our holly jolly holiday playlist

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” What could be better than eggnog, pretty lights, fluffy snow and spending time with loved ones?

It's Christmas, and you're probably right about to start tearing into the gifts under the tree. Aside from the snow, there is one thing that makes holiday activities such as this, that much better — music!

NowMedia wanted to compile a short playlist of some of our favourite holiday jams, including some classics from the crooners, new age pop, hip-hop, indie and some rockin’ guitar riffs, this playlist has a little bit of everything and is sure to be the soundtrack to your holiday fun.

    The Zolas – “Snow”

We wanted to ease you into things nice and slow with a beautiful song about snow, courtesy of Canadian indie-rock band, The Zolas. With some funky and festive keyboard and tambourine skills, a chilled out pace (no pun intended) and some heartfelt lyrics this song will have you reminiscing of holidays past.

Mariah Carey – “All I want for Christmas Is You”

Catchy and festive, this holiday hit is iconic and really needs no justification as it is a staple on any Christmas playlist!

    Michael Buble – “Winter Wonderland”

It’s not the holidays without some Buble! His smooth as butter voice is reminiscent of some of the greats and his holiday album has quickly become a staple on everyone's playlist this time of year. With all the fluffy snow that's visited Kelowna this month, it’s only fitting this is the song you listen to while taking a stroll through our stunning valley.

Dean Martin – “Let it Snow”

Speaking of greats! Dean martin has been and always will be a must have on any holiday playlist. Also sticking with the theme of romance and snow this song is perfect to listen to on a cold snowy night all huddled up with your loved one (weather that be a person or pet) it will have you hoping for more snow so you can stay in and enjoy a few more egg nogs.

    Frank Sinatra – “Jingle Bells”

A holiday classic, you gotta love those j-i-n-g-l-e bells! This jam will have you and everyone around singing at the top of your lungs and looking for the closest sleigh to take down the hill.

Hanson – “What Christmas Means to Me”

Want to have a little dance party? Hanson has you covered! Singing about some of the best things of the holidays; the carolers, the smiles and mistletoe. They pay perfect tribute to Stevie Wonder with this upbeat happy tune that'll have you shaking while you're baking some tasty holiday treats.
