The Prince George RCMP remain on scene of a single-vehicle motorcycle collision that occurred early this morning.

At around 5 a.m. RCMP received a report of a collision involving a motorcycle near the intersection of Highway 97 and 22nd Avenue.

Officers arrived on scene to find an adult female conscious but suffering from injuries.

First aid was administered until paramedics arrived. She was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Police believe that the female was a passenger on the motorcycle when the collision occurred.

An unknown adult male and the female were traveling south bound on Highway 97 at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to negotiate a corner.

The motorcycle and riders left the road, traveling a considerable distance into the west side ditch between the highway and Westwood Drive.

The male fled the area on foot and left the female behind where she waited for hours to be found.

The motorcycle was not registered and did not have insurance.

Police believe that alcohol may have been a factor.

The motorcycle is described as a green Kawasaki Ninja street bike. No description of the male has been obtained as of yet.
