The Okanagan Mission Huskies senior girls basketball team saw their incredible season continue in Kamloops over the weekend.

After cruising through the early part of the AAA Valley Championship, the Huskies earned a bye in the quarterfinals.

In the semis, Lily Pink led the way with 22 points while Melaina Corrado scored 16 of her own, leading the team to a convincing 76-44 win over Vernon Secondary School.

That earned OKM a spot in the finals against South Kamloops, where they jumped out to an early lead and earned a convincing 63-32.

Jordan Elliot earned player of the game thanks to a perfect game from beyond the arc, while Lily Pink once again led the way for the Huskies, this time with 19 points.

Her impressive performances earned her tournament MVP honours, while Melaina Corrado was named a first-team all-star and Tatum Wade won top defensive player.

"This championship is really exciting because it’s our first in school history, but it’s just the start of where we want to go,” said head coach Meghan Faust. “We still have goals left to accomplish."

Faust says the girls will now spend the next two weeks prepping for the provincial tournament.
