(UPDATE: 7:00 a.m.) – Hwy 3 and Hwy 97C are both full open after Thursday night incidents.
However, travel on B.C. Interior highways is not advised today due to poor road conditions.
An increased risk of avalanche has closed Hwy 1 between Golden and the Alberta border and isn't expected to be open until noon.
(UPDATE: 8:30 p.m.) – The incident on the Okanagan Connector (Hwy 97C) between the Pennask Summit and Trepanier has been cleared.
However, the road is still closed eastbound at the Sunset Main Forest Service Road and a black ice travel advisory is in effect for the highway.
On the Hope-Princeton Highway (Hwy 3), the four jackknifed semis have all been cleared and traffic is slowly starting to move through the affected area.
If you can avoid highway travel tonight, please do.
(UPDATE: 7:45 p.m.) – The Okanagan Connector (Hwy 97C) is once again closed in both directions and the Hope-Princeton Highway (Hwy 3) has now joined it in that sense.
This time the Hwy 97C closure is between the Pennask Summit and Trepanier, although crews are still dealing with an accident at the Sunset Main Forest Service Road as well.
Elsewhere, a KelownaNow staff member is reporting that traffic has come to a standstill on Hwy 3, 25 kilometres west of Princeton.
The cause of the delay is four jackknifed semis, but a flagger on scene informed our staff member that two of the four semis have been cleared.
NowMedia will update this story as information about Hwy 3 and Hwy 97C becomes available.
