(UPDATE: Oct. 21 @ 10 pm) – With 230 of 280 polls reporting, PentictonNow is ready to call the South Okanagan-West Kootenay riding in favour of incumbent Richard Cannings.
The NDP candidate has 18,077 votes (37.2%) so far, nearly 2,000 more than Conservative candidate Helena Konanz, who has 16,458 votes (33.8%).
Liberal Connie Denesiuk was a distant third with 8,340 votes (17.1%).
(Original story: Oct. 21 @ 9:10 pm) – With nearly half of the polls reporting, the South Okanagan-West Kootenay riding is far too close to call.
Incumbent Richard Cannings and the NDP are currently in the lead with 8,431 of 23,504 votes (35.9%).

Conservative Helena Konanz is right on his tail, however, with 8,196 votes (34.9%) to her name.
So far, 135 of 280 polls have reported results.
Connie Denesiuk’s Liberals are in third place, but well behind with 4,266 votes (18.2%), while Tara Howse and the Green Party have 1,896 votes (8.1%).
