  • UPDATE: Accident on Bennett Bridge cleared

(UPDATE: 12:10 pm) – The accident that was backing up traffic on the Bennett Bridge has been cleared.

Traffic is once again flowing freely westbound over the bridge.

(Original story: 11 am) – Traffic is starting to back up on Harvey Avenue after a late morning crash on the Bennett Bridge.

The Central Okanagan Scanner Twitter account is reporting the cause of the delays to be a multi-vehicle accident.

Webcam images show traffic at a standstill on the bridge and backed up at least to Abbott Street on the Kelowna side.

It’s unclear as to whether emergency crews are on scene yet.

It does appear that traffic is slowly getting through, but it will continue to back up along Harvey Avenue as the congestion continues to build.

KelownaNow will update this story as more information becomes available.
