(UPDATE: July 3 @ 3:55 pm) – Preciosa Pires has been found.
The Penticton RCMP said the missing senior is "safe and sound," and thanked the public for its assistance in the matter.
Police issued an urgent appeal for information regarding Pires' whereabouts earlier this afternoon.
(Original story: July 3 @ 1:30 pm) – The Penticton RCMP are trying to locate missing woman, Preciosa Pires, who suffers from short term memory loss.
Police said the 72-year-old was last seen on July 2, and was reported missing today.
Pires also goes by the first name Lourdes, and speaks fluent Portuguese. She may appear to be confused or disoriented.
Description of Preciosa Pires:
- Caucasian female
- 72 years old
- 5’2” (158 cm) tall
- 135 lbs (61kg)
- Slender to medium build
- Brown eyes
- Short white hair
She was last seen wearing:
- Grey short sleeve shirt
- Black pants
- Pink flip flops
“Police are very concerned for Preciosa’s health and well-being given her age and short-term memory loss,” the RCMP added.
