  • Microsoft is ditching MS Paint with the next Windows update

This fall could be the end of an era.

After 32 years, it looks like Microsoft will be ditching MS Paint with their next Windows update later this year.

In the list of features being removed or deprecated in this fall’s update, MS Paint falls under the latter.

That means that it will still be available through the Windows Store, for now.

In 2016, Microsoft introduced Paint 3D, which features 3D image making tools and some basic 2D image editing.

According to Microsoft, MS Paint functionality will be integrated into Paint 3D.

The news has come with a wave of nostalgia, as people mourn the loss of one of the most popular early computer programs.

A specific date for the Windows 10 update, and the end of MS Paint, has not been announced.
