A man was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Monday night after his pickup truck crossed the centre line of Hwy 1.
It happened around 7:50 pm near 20th Ave NE in Salmon Arm.
Investigators determined that the driver of an eastbound Ford F350, a Salmon Arm man in his 70s, crossed the centre line and collided with a pair of westbound semis, back to back.
The driver had to be extricated from his heavily damaged pickup before being transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Fortunately, his passenger, also a man in his 70s, has been treated at hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Both semi-truck drivers were not injured in the collision and they remained at the scene of the accident, as well as provided statements and dash-cam footage to aid the investigation.
Despite the extensive findings so far, the crash is still under investigation and anyone who witnessed it is asked to call the Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-863-6044.
