It was one of 15 medals that the winery added to its resume at this year’s awards, including gold medals for its 2018 Platinum Block 3 Riesling and its 2017 Platinum Haynes Creek Syrah.
Considered a pioneer winery in the Okanagan, the recognition doesn’t come as a major surprise for CedarCreek’s winemaker.
“Our team continues to push the boundaries of winemaking and viticulture even further with sustainable practices that will improve the quality of our entire portfolio of wines,” said Taylor Whelan.
“These awards clearly underscore that we are on the right path with our organic commitment in our vineyards and at the winery.”

The head judge of this year’s InterVin International Wine Awards lauded CedarCreek’s quality winemaking practices and vineyard-specific focus.
It’s not just in Canada that CedarCreek is being recognized either, as the winery is impressing on the world stage.
CedarCreek’s 2018 Estate Riesling won for ‘World’s Best Semi-Dry Riesling’ at the Canberra International Riesling Challenge, the largest and most competitive Riesling competition in the Southern Hemisphere.
