It’s a chance for music, poetry, and social change to take the forefront in Kelowna.
Author Al Etmanski’s is calling it his book “unlaunch” for IMPACT: Six Patterns to Spread Your Social Innovation.

Urban Matters CCC and Valley First are inviting the public to attend the event at Laurel Packing House on March 9th.
UnLaunching the Okanagan promises to bring together storytellers, musicians, singers, poets, food, and wine thanks to Etmanski who has a different view of traditional book launches.
“Book launches are about the author and they aren't very interesting,” he said, in a statement. “This event will be about local social innovators, social entrepreneurs and changemakers.”
Organizers want to make change when it comes to social and environmental challenges within the community.
IMPACT profiles more than 50 Canadians who are already achieving lasting social impact instead of quick, short-term wins.

“I wanted to shine a light on Canadians who have or are changing the world,” continued Etmanski.
The main event will focus on the stories from the Okanagan Nation Alliance, Okanagan College, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Etmanski will also have a short public discussion with these innovators on how to make change in their fields.
“I guarantee people will come away inspired, emboldened and with more energy than when they arrived,” said Etmanski.
Individuals and organizations interested in attending the event can purchase tickets online.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the program kicking off at 7 p.m.
