A Kelowna man is eyeing an early retirement and more time in the great outdoors after a major lottery win.
Robert Pearce purchased and scanned his Daily Grand ticket at the Real Canadian Superstore in West Kelowna.
It was a life changing moment.

“I couldn’t quite comprehend the amount,” he explained. “I’ve only played Daily Grand a few times, I was completely speechless.”
Pearce matched five out of five numbers to win one of the Sept. 20 bonus draw prizes.
Having the option to choose $25,000 a year for life or a lump sum of $500,000, he chose the latter and will start enjoying his big win immediately.
For Pearce, the win is all about personal freedom and having more time to enjoy the things he loves in an early retirement.
“My first thought was I would like to retire,” he said. “I’ll get a new truck and camper, and spend more time hunting and fishing. But more importantly I’ll live stress free, and that is something I’m really excited about.”
Pearce is one of two B.C. winners from the Sept. 20 draw, as Vancouver resident George Kesson also won the same Daily Grand bonus draw.
