After one season as the head coach of the Kelowna Falcons, Ryan Wright is moving up the ranks.
Wright has been hired by the Toronto Blue Jays organization and will serve as a minor league hitting coach.

The hiring comes despite a difficult first season in charge of the Falcons where the team posted a 17-35 record.
However, Wright was dealing with a young roster that lost seven players to the MLB draft in June.
“(Wright) worked very hard last year to keep us competitive after the loss of seven players to the Major League Baseball draft,” said Mark Nonis, Falcons GM
“He’s an excellent coach as proven by this position with the Blue Jays. We wish him the best of luck.”

Wright is the first Falcons head coach to work his way into the professional ranks and he expressed his gratitude to the organization for giving him a shot this past season.
“This past summer was my first time in Canada and Kelowna immediately became a spot I loved and will miss,” Wright explained.
“Although I was looking forward to coaching the outstanding roster being put together for this upcoming season, I'm excited for this new opportunity with the Blue Jays.”
The search for a new head coach has already begun.
