  • Justin Timberlake to headline Super Bowl LII halftime show

The Super Bowl LII headliner has been confirmed and he’s no stranger to the halftime show stage.

Justin Timberlake will be performing at the big game on February 4th, 2018, 14 years after Janet Jackson and his infamous wardrobe malfunction.

He broke the news with the help of his friend Jimmy Fallon before this weekend’s Sunday Night Football game.

The game happened to be between the combatants of last year’s Super Bowl, the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons.

Timberlake then sat down with NBC’s Mike Tirico during halftime and it didn’t take long for Tirico to ask the 36-year-old about that 2004 show.

During that show, Jackson and Timberlake delivered a duet of ‘Rock Your Body,’ which was entirely normal until the song’s final line, “I’m gonna have you naked by the end of this song.”

At that point, a young Timberlake reached over and ripped off part of Jackson’s top, exposing her right breast on international TV with 140 million people watching.

The controversy resulted in CBS being fined $550,000 by the FCC and it led to a five-second broadcast delay being implemented for all future live T.V. performances.

“Yeah, that won’t happen this time,” Timberlake told Tirico.

The singer did reveal that he’s already been going through and watching old halftime shows to make sure he delivers a fresh, original halftime show.

This will be Timberlake’s third time on the halftime show stage, as he also performed in 2001 as a part of NSYNC.
