Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
Our favourite people to spend time with are our wonderful customers. We have so many customers who stop by the shop on a regular basis that they feel like family.
What is your favourite local store in Prince George and why?
When we hear our customers tell us that we are their favourite store it makes us so happy. We often hear that our customers appreciate our store because of the care for detail in our displays, our friendly staff and our constantly changing stock.
Describe yourself in one word.
Hospice.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Our customers often joke that we need a bigger store, but we are happy where we are in College Heights.
What is your favourite activity in Prince George?
Our favourite activity is treasure hunting! Our customers will often stop by for something specific but leave buying something totally different. You never know what you will find in our shop and that is what makes it so fun.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
During our Thrifty Thursday sale this past February, a car crashed into the side of our store coming right through the window. It was 3 in the afternoon and the store was open to customers. Luckily, no one was injured.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
The continued support from the community is so inspiring. Our store completely relies on the generosity of the Prince George community to stock our shelves. We are so honoured when people choose to donate their treasures to our store and help us raise
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
We are very lucky to have a wonderful group of volunteers who help run our store. The store would not be what it is today without the hard work of our volunteers. Their dedication is truly amazing.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
It would be wonderful if even more people saw the value in secondhand items. We take pride in our shop for providing a clean retail environment where we sell quality used goods. We hope to take away the stigma of shopping secondhand and make it a fun experience.
What do you think makes Prince George great?
The people of Prince George is what makes this city so great. To continue the amazing work being done at the Hospice House we reply on this continued support and Prince George has always been there for us.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
This is what Hospice has been asking Prince George on our “Bucket List PG” Facebook group. The group is all about encouraging the Prince George community to pursue their life goals. Last year Hospice teamed up with local businesses to help make some of these life goals happen including skydiving and a trip to Disneyland. This year’s Bucket List Gala is September 22.
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
Not everyone knows that the Hospice Resale Shop is open seven days a week. Our hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

What is the name of your business/organization?
The Prince George Hospice Resale Shop.
Why did you get into/start this business?
All the profits from the Hospice Resale Shop go directly to support the Prince George Hospice Society. The Hospice Society does incredibly important work for our community and we are dedicated to continuing to provide funds so that work can continue.
What is the goal of your business?
The Hospice Resale shop takes pride in our friendly, clean and organized shop. Our fast turn over of donated items provide a variety of treasures for each shopping experience.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
It is so important to shop locally because the money stays in your community. By supporting the Hospice Resale Shop you are helping to support your local Prince George Hospice Society which directly impacts people in your community.

A huge shout out to the staff and volunteers both at the Hospice Resale Shop and those who work at the Hospice House. Those who work at the Resale Shop work so hard because they know the money raised by their efforts support such a worthy cause.
Some general comments I would like to share are:
Our shop has several notable sales including Seniors Day which is the 5th day of every month 15% off for everyone 55 years or better, Thrifty Thursday which is the last Thursday of every month 20% off on all purchases and of course, our Dollar Clothing Sale(s), in July and January where every piece of clothing is on sale for only one dollar per piece.
