Meet Tanya. Tanya is originally from Stoke-on-Trent in the UK, and has been living in Kelowna since August 2016. Tanya owns a tattoo studio in Kelowna called The Inked Emporium.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
I love spending time with both of my good friends Melissa and Sylvia. Thy are both supportive and wonderful to spend time with.
What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
I love Bean Scene on Bernard, the staff are wonderful and the energy is always great. Also I love the clothing in gypsy soul, it's so unique.
Describe yourself in one word.
Creative.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I would go back to Disneyland in California, where I feel like a child and so free.
What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Currently it’s hanging out at Bean Scene on the rooftop terrace.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
I’m always falling over and bumping into things on a regular basis. The list is endless.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
The most inspiring thing that has happened to me was following my heart to come to Canada. I am constantly inspired by life and how it challenges you and helps you to grow.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Meeting all of my brothers and sisters for the first time.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I give back to the community and the planet by being an ethically conscious and environmentally friendly studio. Each day I ensure that i try to be a better person than i was the moment before.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Nothing. Everything is as it should be.
Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
I love to go to Mission Creek or to any of the beaches.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
I would like to see better parking downtown and a cheaper charge. Perhaps better musical events.
What do you think makes Kelowna great?
The beautiful lake and nature.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
- To go to all of the disney locations
- To travel to beautiful places like Europe
- To live the best life possible

What is the name of your business/organization?
The Inked Emporium.
Why did you get into/start this business?
To create beautiful art and meet wonderful people. To use ink to help people with their confidence and also to bring their ideas to life so that they can carry it on their skin for the rest of this life.
What is the goal of your business?
To help people achieve their artistic and cosmetic desires. Also to offer a friendly, comfortable and unique experience for all of my clients
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Moving across the world and leaving my family.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I would do everything the same as its led me to this point and I have faith that everything will keep getting better and better
What do you always find yourself saying?
The universe will never give you what it doesn’t think you can handle. You are strong.

Never give up on love.
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
I would spend the day with david Ji. He’s such an inspirational person in my life right now.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
When you shop local you are supporting someone’s dream.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Setting up my business.

The Inked Emporium is not your average tattoo studio, we provide tattoos and cosmetic tattooing. We offer scalp micropigmentation and strive to be ethical and environmentally conscious in all that we do. Our studio provides something a little different with our relaxed and comfortable energy.
