Meet Sherida Rae Taylor! This local photographer has lived in Victoria for three years!
Who is your favorite person to spend time with and why?
My little people are my 'favorite people'. I have four kids and the things they do and say are so entertaining. They always have me laughing!
What is your favourite local store in Victoria and why?
The Lighthouse Bakery – uhm… because it's YUMMY!
Describe yourself in one word.
Creative.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
I would love to explore Iceland. It looks absolutely incredible.
What is your favourite activity in Victoria?
I really just love to hike and explore.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
I honestly can't think of anything other than waving at somebody who I believe is waving at me but they are actually waving at the person behind me — we've all done that right? haha
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
My babies! They inspire me daily. I want to be a better person a better mother and better example.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
My favourite childhood memory has to be riding my bike, playing at the park and dancing on the front lawn with my best friends Yagu and Mariama. They were such a huge part of my childhood. Play fighting and foot wars with my brother are also fond memories of mine!
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I am a volunteer photographer for Spectrum Inspired. Spectrum Inspired is a non-profit global community that donates photo sessions to families touched by Autism Spectrum Disorders. It is our mission to give families a platform to voice their struggles, celebrate their victories and share their story; all the while, removing the stigma and stereotypes of what is thought to be representative of Autism and show the world just how broad and beautiful the spectrum is. To apply, visit their website.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Can't we just all get along?
Where would you sneak away to in Victoria to spend some time alone?
I would sneak away to any beach. The sound of the ocean waves are so calming.
What do you think makes Victoria great?
The people. And I love the small town feel.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
