Meet Sailaica Wiebe. Sailaica lived in PG until she was 19. After some travelling, she has now decided to call our city home!
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
I can’t pick just one! My fiancé, baby boy and any of my best girlfriends. I love being with people where you can truly just be yourself.
What is your favourite local store in Prince George and why?
I love anywhere that has good, unique food. I love Playgrounds Cafe, the Winery, Crossroads and Nancy’O’s.
Describe yourself in one word.
Artistic.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Bali. It’s been on my bucket list for years. I love that relaxed carefree island vibe.
What is your favourite activity in Prince George?
Finding new hikes and adventures to go on.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Someone once brought us a bottle of real Champagne! I said “Wow! Thank you so much, we will definitely save this for a special occasion!”. When they opened it at lunch, I then realized that their visit was the “special occasion”. Whoopsies!
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Going back to school for business as a mature student.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Travelling down the Oregon coast with my family when I was about eight years old is one of my favourite memories. Fossils, ocean critters and slug farms.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I, unfortunately, have not had the time to volunteer yet but I do always try to support the Hospice House anyway I can. We I’m asked to donate services to special causes I always like to help.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Pollution, garbage and lack of recycling. It’s so sad to me the amount of packaging everything comes in and the waste we create as a society.
Where would you sneak away to in Prince George to spend some time alone?
Probably one of the yoga studios.
Where would you like to see positive change in Prince George and why?
This is slowly starting but I would love to see more bustling downtown centre form. An area to create more of a community meeting area where people can wander, get coffee or brunch and check out some of the awesome shops we have or the farmers market.
What do you think makes Prince George great?
I love the small town feel here. Everyone seems connected somehow and everyone is extremely supportive especially other business owners.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
Go to Africa.
Dive the Blue Hole off of Belize.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I can sew and I just started another business this year with a friend called Brax&Bree making baby clothes!
How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Facebook and Instagram.
What is the name of your business/organization?
POMMETTE Beauty Studio.
Why did you get into/start this business?
I originally started my business in Kelowna as mobile aesthetics and makeup. As a major wedding hub, I mostly focused on brides and wedding parties.
What is the goal of your business?
Basically to make people feel beautiful and confident about themselves.
What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
Balance. I’m an all or nothing type person.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
One of my favourite quotes is “Never regret anything because at one time it was exactly what you wanted.” Sometimes I have to remind myself this
What do you always find yourself saying?
I have a 10-month-old so I’m usually saying, “let’s go play”, “let’s snuggle” or “I wish I had wine”.
Tell us your best piece of life advice
If you have an opportunity to make a memory over making money, do it! Always go on that adventure!
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
When you support local businesses you are helping send their kids to their activities, helping them go on a holiday and making an amazing community for us all to live in.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Becoming a momma this year to the most amazing, happy little boy.
Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
My Mom. She’s a hard working single lady who will literally help anyone in need before she helps herself. Anyone who is friends with her is super lucky. And she’s the best Grandma!
