Meet Rachelle Delorey. She's lived in Prince George for 35 years.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
I get to spend lots of time with my roommate, Imani. The conversations we have are deep, sometimes really funny, life experiences and she is an amazing person to have in my life.
What is your favourite local store in Prince George and why?
Books & Co, they have a very nice cafe where you can go and relax, read a book, look at spiritual cards, enjoy music. It is a very welcoming atmosphere.
Describe yourself in one word.
Compassionate.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
French Polynesia. My dream is to go stay in those little huts by the ocean, go on the Faaroa River and take a sunset cruise to Bora Bora. It always felt like home when I look at the pictures.
What is your favourite activity in Prince George?
Volunteering at the Cougars game with the Nechako Rotary Club.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Running out of gas coming down Peden Hill on a busy long weekend and got stuck in the middle of the highway.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Getting to love my grandkids Tegan, Kael, David, and little Alice.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
I loved wearing dresses when I was little and every year I always wanted to wear my emerald green dress. It made me feel like I was a princess while I wore it. With tap dance shoes and, for your information, I just loved the noise they made, that is why I wanted to wear them. Unfortunately, I never learned how to tap dance!
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I have volunteered in our city since my children and I moved here in 1983. I belonged to many organizations, such as Le Cercle des Canadiens Francais, Beta Sigma Phi, Volunteered at the hospital to share Reiki with patients and also the staff. I also volunteer with the Summer Games, Winter Games, Labour Day Run, with the evacuees last summer, Operation Red Nose, Selling Raffles Tickets, babysitting at the Old Civic Centre, helping at Seniors Home, Cougars Game, and many more that I don't recall all of them but for the last five years I belong to Nechako Rotary Club and we do lots of volunteering. In the year 2019/2020, I will be President of our club!
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Bringing peace in the world is what I want to change.
Where would you sneak away to in Prince George to spend some time alone?
My favourite place is Rainbow Park or Connaught Hill Park, those are my two favourite places to linger, be grateful for my life, count my blessings and read a book.
Where would you like to see positive change in Prince George and why?
My dreams have always been to build a home for the less fortunate children, get qualified people to teach and guide them so they can get off the street.
What do you think makes Prince George great?
What makes Prince George great are the people, the community helping people in need, a lot of compassionate and the caring people in our city.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Go for a minimum of a month in the French Polynesian
2. Go for a month spiritual retreat in Maui
3. Spend six months in an orphanage and help the children
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I have a fear of drowning.
How do people connect with you, personally, through social media? (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
What is the name of your business/organization?
Perpetual Transformation of the Body, Mind and Soul.
I also co-wrote a book called 'Heal Thy Self by Powerful You' and it became a best seller the same day on June 15th, 2017.
When did you get into/start this business?
2008.
What is the goal of your business?
My goal this year and beyond is to share the tools with clients to take control of their lives spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically. A minimum of 50 people monthly.
What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
My biggest struggle was learning that it is better to be alone than in a toxic relationship. When you are an empath you trust that people would not do hurtful things. A person deserves to be loved and respected, if not then time to move on.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I would do mostly all the same things, except believe in myself that I am worthy, and have higher self-esteem.
What do you always find yourself saying?
'Cancel, cancel, cancel'
Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Live life to the fullest each day, tell the people in your life that you love them as we never know when our last moment will be. Live life with no regrets
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
I would choose to spend one whole day with my mom Georgette. She will be 93 on February 28th. She lives in Clarence Creek, Ontario so I don't get to go often and spend quality time with my mom. She is an amazing mom and has raised 10 of us. The wisdom and the love she has for all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren is unbelievable. I would love to have all my family spend quality time together.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Helps with our economy, gives jobs to locals, and you know the people that you are dealing with.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
My proudest accomplishment was building my business from the ground up and offering holistic energy healing to clients worldwide, and part of that also was my Clinical Master Hypnotherapy.
Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
Imani Miller. She does a huge amount of volunteer work, helping women, men and children take charge of their life by giving them the tools to heal their wounds with the Medicine Wheel Cafe. She is a very hard working women.
Some general comments I would like to share are:
Prince George has been my home for many years, it is an amazing city to raise children. We are surrounded by nature, lots to do, and see. The people you meet and working together learning what their dreams, goals, aspirations are and helping them see their potential. We all have greatness inside us. We need to listen to our wisdom and become whom you were meant to be. One person that made a huge difference in my life is Dr. Myron Wentz with USANA Health and Science, his vision which I also what I believe in is 'Having a world free from pain and suffering. Live life to its fullest in happiness and health.'
