Meet Kristen! She moved from Ontario to Kelowna in 2013 with her fiancé.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My fiancé. He's my very best friend, my person. The one that makes me feel so safe and always makes me laugh on a daily basis.

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Little Hobo Soup & Sandwich Shop. That counts right? YUMO

    Describe yourself in one word.
    Mindful.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Home. To the lake. Surrounded by my family and friends that I miss oh so dearly.

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Going on spontaneous road trips that always lead to an adventure.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?

    Wouldn't you like to know.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Not only going through tough times, but growing through those times.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
All the cousins, having all the fun.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
Formerly known as "IWEN", Her International is a non-profit, registered charity, directed by a volunteer Board of Directors. They empower marginalized women and girls through education and life skills. I could not be more proud to help out in any way that I can for the team!

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
    The way people love.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
Ellison dog park. To walk the trails with my goofy floofy boy.

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
    The housing market.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
The surrounding landscape/nature's playground for us to enjoy.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
    I am so grateful to have already crossed so many items off my list. A few left would be;

    1. Exploring the parts of Europe I have yet to see.
    2. Travel across the States in an RV.
    3. Build a big family cottage where everyone gathers.

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I believe people should get to me if they'd like to know 🙂

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media? (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)

    Instagram (@kristennleannee)

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Letting go of what is not meant for me.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I think there's a reason why we cannot start all over and remake our choices.

What do you always find yourself saying?
    Is is lunchtime?

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
    Love yourself with zero apologies.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?

I'm a little disappointed with the whole currently living aspect. I sure do miss my baby cousin.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
    To support the local community

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Im still working on it, but that's something to be proud of in itself 🙂

Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
