Kevin Kishor.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
I came from Toronto area in 1999, but have gone back and forth quite a bit.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My kids (most of the time, haha) because they each bring a unique joy to my life.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Back to T.O. to see my family.
What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
It's a tie between Bean Scene Bernard and Naked Cafe. I love these local ladies making an impact locally!
What is your favourite activity?
Another tie between coaching/playing basketball or music/dancing.
If you had to choose: pizza, tacos, or burgers?
Tacos 100% but after midnight, well…
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Recently, biking into a pole here, don't ask.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Listening to my oldest daughter Shadae, she's the head of marketing/operations, talk at meetings or events, I'm so proud!
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Definitely a tie between Disney World and getting one thousand loonies for Christmas, I should have invested.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I spent 15 years working in the non-profit community here so I have always been really involved. However, our company started 'More than Beautiful', my daughter's initiative to showcase local women in business and art while raising awareness and funds for charities geared to girls and women.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Hate rooted in ignorance. We don't have to understand each other in order to love. Acceptance is enough to respect others and build relationships/communities.
What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Laying poolside in the summer, with a cold beverage of course.
Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
Either church in the day because I love the silence and how the sun shines through the stained glass or a quiet spot by the water.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
Other than traffic, diversity 100% and we're trying to do our part!
What do you think makes Kelowna great?
It's so beautiful here, especially the weather!
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1) Write a book.
2) Coach internationally.
3) Build a recording company.
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I'm Guyanese-Canadian but mixed with African, Chinese, East Indian, Portuguese, French and Creole.

Facebook and Instagram.
What is the name of your business/organization?
KK Management (A Division of Kishor Ventures Inc.)
Why did you get into/start this business?
It happened very organically, starting with my bro KB and DIPP Basketball, then my long time boy DJ Invizible planted a seed, soon Basement Heads and Artist Amelia Moylan came our way. We love them all and the fam is still growing!
What is the goal of your business?
Growing brands, people, talent and culture in our communities. Events and making a difference will always be central to who we are as well.
What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
Being a teenage father.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I feel the appropriate saying here is 'in order to love who you are, you cannot hate the experiences that have shaped you.'
What do you always find yourself saying?
Lately it's the hashtags for my coming blog: 'love wins, be the difference' and now 'make a great day', which is new one inspired by someone important to me.
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Other than my grandmother on my mom's side, it would be my grandfather on my dad's side because he lives in Guyana and I feel we miss the wisdom of our elders today.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Simple, we have to support each other, it's not sustainable to rely on visitors.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
I used to say being Masters educated, given my background, but now I say persevering through some major storms in my life for sure.

Mahta Sadi and Jessica Lake for both taking a chance on Kelowna by starting Dipp Dance and building a life here after being on big platforms in big cities, these ladies are killing it!
