Meet Kelsey, she is from Medicine Hat in Alberta but has lived in Kelowna for almost five years. Kelsey is the assistant manager at Watson's Hound Lounge, a dog daycare and grooming lounge in Kelowna.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My boyfriend Josh Duncan. We aren't just in a relationship, we are amazing friends who share many similar interests. He is a very positive person to be around always.
What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
"Funktional" they have amazing pieces from local artists from across Canada. I can always find something for my friends or myself. And what's better than shopping local?

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Gili Islands in Indonesia. I would love to volunteer with the Cats of Gili organization.
What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
Riding my bike, or laying at the beach.
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
I am very inspired by all the powerful women in my life. So it's not really a single thing that has happened to me. But they all give me great inspiration on the daily.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Spending summers at Buffalo Lake with my family and friends.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Single-use plastics and over-consumerism of big box stores
Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
Any beach in Kelowna.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
I would like to see more places and businesses become dog-friendly. Also, more rentals to be more animal-friendly.
What do you think makes Kelowna great?
All of the bike lanes, parks and beaches. It's really just a beautiful place to be.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
- Volunteer with an animal organization in a different country.
- Road trip across Canada, or into the states on the west coast.
- Make a difference in my community. Small or big.

I work in the canine industry. But I am a huge cat lover.

I am the assistant manager of Watson's Hound Lounge a dog daycare in Kelowna.
Why did you get into/start this business?
It was my passion for animals and finishing my Veterinary Assistant Program at the Centre for Arts and Technology Kelowna.
What do you always find yourself saying?
If it's meant to be it will be.

Try to live in the moment. Don't stress too far into the future.
