Meet Hayley Noelle! Hayley was born in Fort St. James and has lived in PG for most of her life!
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
I really enjoy spending time with all of my family and friends but I spend most of my time with my boyfriend, Tannon. He’s my best friend and one of the most caring, supportive, funny, and hard-working people that I know.
What is your favourite local store in Prince George and why?
I really love Homework – they have so many great home décor and clothing items! I've also become obsessed with going to Magel’s Café for bubble tea lately. Their black classic milk tea with tapioca pearls is SO dang good.
Describe yourself in one word.
Expressive.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Ahhhh too many places, not enough time! I’d really like to visit Spain, Morocco, Bora Bora, or just go back to Disneyland. Honestly, I can’t decide which I’d do first haha.
What is your favourite activity in Prince George?
I love going to the exploring Cottonwood Island Park, spending time with the family pup, Grace. I also like going to the Farmer's Market and exploring downtown.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Honestly, my life is one embarrassing story after another, so it’s hard to think of any one particular instance!
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Probably getting to go present a bill in parliament when I was in high school with some classmates! It was such a neat experience & it made me feel like I could really make a difference in the world. This is probably why I'm so interested in politics too.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Probably going to the May fair with my family! My siblings and I have always loved West Coast Amusements and getting to go on all of the rides every year together was so much fun. Mini donuts are great too.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I donate items when I can but haven’t been able to do much volunteer work, especially since I just moved back to town. I do plan to apply to volunteer at the SPCA and/or Humane Society though as animals are a major passion of mine.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
I wish people would be more compassionate to others in a lot of ways. To put it simply, I really hope that one day people will realize that we are all equal and deserve basic human rights and decency.
Where would you sneak away to in Prince George to spend some time alone?
I actually don’t typically enjoy being alone (ask Tannon, haha). But I do spend quite a bit of alone time at the Northern Sport Centre.
Where would you like to see positive change in Prince George and why?
I think some great improvements are being/have been done to the downtown core which is attracting more people to go downtown. There are so many amazing shops and restaurants to check out, and I’m glad people are taking more advantage of them!
What do you think makes Prince George great?
I think there are so many great people and neat areas to explore! I love that you can drive about ten minutes in any direction and get to a cool nature spot. It’s also affordable to live here and there are so many things to do.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
This seems way too simple but:
1) adopt a pup (hoping this one happens ASAP!)
2) travel more
3) go to a PR event/trip
Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I love cheese – I could eat mac and cheese, grilled cheese, etc, every day for the rest of my life to be honest. I mean, if I wasn't trying to be somewhat healthy haha.
How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Instagram is the best way to connect with me.
What is the name of your business/organization?
I don't actually have a “business”, but I work with brands through my Instagram account (@hayleynoellexo).
Why did you get into/start this business?
I started getting really into makeup a few years ago and began heavily pursuing it when I realized that posting the content that I love to create can really inspire others and help them learn how to do things as well.
What is the goal of your business?
I really just want to uplift others and inspire people to try new things and have fun with their beauty routine.
What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
Trying to find a work/life balance! I work a full-time job, and then I spend a significant amount of time working on my social media each day. It’s hard to balance that with my personal life but I think I’ve finally found a balance that works.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
If I could start my social media journey all over again, I don’t think there is anything I would change besides starting sooner!
What do you always find yourself saying?
I often say that my greatest talent is being able to spot a cute dog from a mile away.
Tell us your best piece of life advice
"Admire someone else's beauty without questioning your own". I'm not sure who that quote originally came from but I think it's super important to remember, especially in this world of social media.
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
I believe it's important because that money will go directly back into our community, to the people who are trying to live their dreams. I'd rather shop locally than continue to see these major corporations get richer.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
I think one of the things I am most proud of is getting to work/partner with some of my favourite brands on content! Also when people recreate my looks or let me know that I inspired them to create a look.
Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
I'm going to be super cheesy for a minute and say my boyfriend, Tannon. He is just such a wonderful person and he just accepted a new teaching position in town. I'm so proud of him and the educator he is, and I can't wait for his students to meet him!
