Meet Brad King! Brad was born and raised in Australia and has been living in PG for 25 years! 

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My wife, Janine. She is where my motivation comes from and we share a good life together!

What is your favourite local store in Prince George and why?
Farmers Market. Talented vendors providing quality products to the community.

Describe yourself in one word.
Go-getter.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Australia to visit my Dads side of the family.

What is your favourite activity in Prince George?
Skateboarding.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Too hard to call just one haha I seem to encounter a lot of awkward highfives/handshakes in my line of work.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.

When I was seven-years-old, my parents took my sister and I to Disney World. I was wearing EVERYTHING Batman(shorts, shoes, shirt and mask). Batman picked me out of the crowd because he noticed my sweet outfit and enthusiasm. I got to cruise around Disney World with him and Cat Woman in the Batmobile.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
We as a company try to give back to the skateboard community by throwing events such as competitions, skate jams and video premiers. Do it for the kids!!!

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Spread positive vibes. Quit the hate and violence/bullying

Where would you sneak away to in Prince George to spend some time alone?
My hobby farm overlooking the Fraser River

Where would you like to see positive change in Prince George and why?
I think Prince George downtown has so much potential and is improving each year. If local businesses continue to thrive we will continue to see good change

What do you think makes Prince George great?
The options we have outdoors. Lakes, rivers and mountains all within reach

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Skydive

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I want to buy a couple horses

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Instagram.

What is the name of your business/organization?
CBA skateboards.

Why did you get into/start this business?
CBA started in 2009 as a crew filming skate and snowboard videos for fun. In 2015 we decided to officially make CBA a "business" and start selling skateboards and apparel to shops all over B.C.

What is the goal of your business?
I've made some of my best friends through skateboarding. Our goal is to keep the culture alive and encourage the younger generation to grab a skateboard and learn all the valuable life lessons it brings along with having fun!

What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
Balance. Sometimes taking on too much at once.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
I wouldn't change a thing. I believe everything happens for a reason.

What do you always find yourself saying?
CBA all day.

Tell us your best piece of life advice
Live in the now. Appreciate the things you have and don't take this life for granted.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Batman. Its been way too long.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Shopping and supporting local businesses is essential for us to grow as a community.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Marrying the love of my life. Buying our second home and converting our first house into a full-time daycare.

Guye Buskermolen. He was my first boss at Ruins Board Shop. Still a big mentor of mine to this day.
