Meet Aneet Brar. She moved to Prince George from Vancouver in 2013.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
I love to spend time with my kids because they are my life and motivation.

What is your favourite local store in Prince George and why?
Books and Company. They are local and a unique place.

Describe yourself in one word.
Love.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
India to see and visit my grandmother.

What is your favourite activity in Prince George?
Going to local lakes with my family during the summertime.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Dining at The Keg restaurant for the first time after immigrating to Canada and knowing nothing about steaks while ordering. That was very embarrassing but now it's my favourite restaurant.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Meeting my mentor, Julie Johnson who runs Arbutus Laser Centre in Vancouver.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Going to our village in India during vacations while living a very modest, laid-back life with my grandmother.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I contribute to the local food banks and try to do random acts of kindness.

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Empower women in third world countries with education and opportunities for employment. These women will end up being empowered mothers who can bring a very positive change in their communities.

Where would you sneak away to in Prince George to spend some time alone?
Go for a walk in Fort George Park.

Where would you like to see positive change in Prince George and why?
Better connectivity to rural communities by reliable public transportation to ensure the safety of the most vulnerable travelling on their own with limited resources.

What do you think makes Prince George great?
The people of Prince George are just great people plus it is the perfect sized city. Not too crowded, nor too small.

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Travel around the world with my family
2. Open a non-profit organization to help and empower women
3. Start a jewellery and cosmetic line inspired by natural and organic elements

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you.
I am a comedian at heart and sometimes make other people laugh even at personal cost.

What is the name of your business/organization?
Girlfriends Brow Bar.

Why did you get into/start this business?
Started from home in 2013 and opened the storefront in 2015.

What is the goal of your business?
Open multiple locations and be the best in the industry in customer satisfaction.

What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
Strike the balance between work and family time.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
Hindsight is always 20/20. I would rather focus on the future and try not to repeat past mistakes and learn from them.

What do you always find yourself saying?
Respect everybody as they are beautiful in their own unique ways.

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Life is short so live every day as it is your last day.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Oprah Winfrey. She is a living legend who is self-made, humble and empowers other women. She started from a very fragile childhood and went on to become one of the most successful and respected celebrities in the world.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
It helps small family owned business in the community and your money stays locally.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Being able to bounce back after the failure of the first business venture and opening Girlfriends Brow Bar which has raised the expectations of the customers in the industry.

Camille MacDonald from POP Media. She is a wonderful videographer and person. She helped us produce some amazing video clips for social media.

Some general comments I would like to share are:
Our focus is to use only organic ingredients and techniques to provide beauty services. Empowering women is the core philosophy of our business where we strive to exceed their expectations. We just moved to a bigger location at 835 Victoria St. We added more services and take better care of our loyal customers.
