Hwy 97 crash between semi and pickup kills 37-year-old BC man

A crash on Hwy 97 between Quesnel and Prince George late Friday afternoon was fatal, police have confirmed.

According to the RCMP, emergency crews were called to the scene of the serious collision between a pickup and semi, with trailer attached, near Cinema, BC, around 4:25 pm Friday, Nov. 29.

Unfortunately, the driver and only occupant of the pickup truck, a 37-year-old man from Quesnel, did not survive the crash.

Sgt. Clay Kronebusch said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi escaped the crash, which shut down Hwy 97 for several hours Friday evening, without any injuries.

Police did not provide details on the nature of the crash, but noted that the fatal collision remains under investigation at this time.
