A vehicle incident has shut down Hwy 97 between Kelowna and Vernon.

The incident is near Vista Road, about 10 kilometres south of Vernon.

An assessment is currently in progress and there’s no estimated time for the road to reopen.

A detour will likely be available through Kalamalka Lakeview Drive.

Hwy 97 isn't the only highway that's closed, as Hwy 3 was shut down a short time earlier because of a vehicle incident as well.

The closure is near Hedley, but there is a detour available through the small town.
