If you’re travelling east today, you’ll want to plan your trip around the closure of Hwy 3.

The mountain pass will be closed for three hours this morning as crews perform avalanche control.

The closure, which will be about 30 kilometres west of Creston, will last from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m.

A detour is available through Nelson and Hwy 3A, but that route could also take hours with increased traffic waiting for the ferry.
