UPDATE: Hwy 1 reopens after ‘serious vehicle incident’

(UPDATE: Dec. 28 @ 4:30 am) – DriveBC confirms that Hwy 1 is once again open near Field, BC following a "serious vehicle incident."

There's no word on whether there were any injuries or fatalities as a result of the incident, but traffic has been flowing since late Friday night.

(Original story: Dec. 27 @ 4:15 pm) – DriveBC is reporting that Hwy 1 is closed this evening due to a vehicle incident.

The highway is closed in both directions 10 km west of Field, BC.

There is currently no detour available, however, an assessment is in progress and an update is expected tonight.
