Hwy 1 closed between Revelstoke and Golden until this afternoon

Crews are performing avalanche control on the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) again today.

As a result, the route is closed between Revelstoke and Golden as of 4 am.

It’s expected to last until around 1 pm and there are no detours available while this work takes place.

Even if the highway was open, travelling through BC Interior mountain passes today is not advised.

Although it’s scheduled for a 1 pm opening, if anything changes regarding this closure and the status of Hwy 1, NowMedia will update this story.
