It's the second year in a row the day has been proclaimed as part of Canada Tourism Week, which runs May 23-30.
"I hope everyone in Kelowna supports the second annual 'Love for Kelowna Day' (today)," said Mayor Colin Basran.
"It's a great opportunity to show our local businesses some love as some health orders are loosened. As long as we follow the public health guidelines and get vaccinated, we can begin to enjoy all that Kelowna has to offer, while supporting our local businesses."
As the pandemic drags on, it's important for the people of Kelowna to continue to recognize what a beautiful city we live in and what an exceptional quality of life and standard of living we enjoy.

In a non-COVID year, Kelowna attracts two million visitors a year and tourism contributes $2 billion to the economy.
With the end of the pandemic on the horizon, so is tourism, economic and societal recovery.
"Beyond economic impact, there is an equally important contribution to quality of life that is directly connected to the local tourism industry," said Tourism Kelowna CEO Lisanne Ballantyne.
"From increased infrastructure, numerous entertainment, cultural and leisure activities to choose from, and a greater variety of local events and businesses, those who live in a community with a strong visitor economy also benefit from access to those amenities throughout the year."
