  • Highlights: Rockets open US road trip in dominant fashion

For the second time in nearly two weeks, the Kelowna Rockets handed the Spokane Chiefs a lopsided loss.

The only difference this time was that the Rockets were on the road as they scored six unanswered goals to win 6-1 on Wednesday.

Spokane opened the scoring last night with a powerful shot from the blue line courtesy of Will McIsaac.

The Chiefs' lead was short-lived before Dawson Gerwing found the back of the net.

Up 2-1 early in the second period, Nate Corbet scored an insurance goal for Kelowna before Carson Wetsch added to Kelowna's tally to make it 4-1.

The Rockets put the game on cruise control in the final frame, and with the help of a power play, Tij Iginla notched his 12th score of the season.

Recently acquired Shane Smith then scored while the Rockets were down a man to make it 6-1, the final score.

Josh Banini stopped 29 of 30 shots he faced in net for Kelowna and the team will look to keep its momentum going against the Tri-City Americans on Friday.
