Portland jumped out of the gate hot and took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission thanks to Ryan Miller’s 20th of the season. Will McLaughlin made it 2-0 just 15 seconds into the middle frame.
The Rockets found their legs not long after that, however, and Tij Iginla managed to cut the lead in half.
In the third, Halaburda tied the game shorthanded – the 100th goal of his WHL career – before Iginla’s second of the night gave Kelowna its first lead just 84 seconds later.

But not even a minute after that, Alex Weiermair tied the game back up on a blistering slapshot from the point. Sam Spehar won it in overtime for the Winterhawks.
Harrison Boettiger stopped 21 of 25 shots he faced in the loss, while Ondrej Štěbeták was outstanding with 42 saves in the victory.
Next up for the Rockets is a weekend road trip to Prince George to take on the Cougars on Friday and Saturday.
