The Kelowna Rockets continue to find ways to defeat their Okanagan rivals as they handed the Penticton Vees a 6-2 loss on Wednesday. 

The win marked the third time in four meetings that the Rockets have defeated the Vees this season and the ball got rolling with an early Tij Iginla goal.

Shortly after Iginla’s opening-minute score, Tomas Poletin snuck in his ninth goal of the season with a wrister from the right circle. 

After Penticton tied the game with two goals in the middle frame, the Rockets responded 10 seconds into the third period with a Carson Wetsch score.

The Rockets had momentum and, 38 seconds later, made it 4-2, putting the game on cruise control toward the 6-2 win. 

Harrison Boettiger made 32 saves en route to his first career WHL win and the third star of the night honour. 

The Rockets will be hitting the road to face the Victoria Royals for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday.
