While the Huskies were running away with an 11-1 victory over the host Salmon Arm Gold in Week 1 of the Okanagan Valley AAA High School Boys Soccer League play, the Bears handled the visiting NorKam Saints 6-0.

In West Kelowna, the Bears’ scoring was spread out among six players — Josh Clancy, James Wiebe, Mitch Steven, Luis Valdes, Justin Matte and Alberto Zanotto (penalty shot). Tallan Freh earned the shout in goal for Boucherie.
Photo Credit: Lorne White/KelownaNowWhile there were solid opportunities for goals in a matchup at Rutland Sportsfields between the host Rutland Voodoos and Kelowna Owls, neither team could get the ball past keepers Eric Dueck and Arian Afsher of RSS and KSS respectively.
The Owls carried the play in the first half but the Voodoos countered via the long ball, primarily to speedy winger Kai Hagen. Rutland played significantly better in the second half, producing several free-kick situations, as well a three corner kicks

KSS will be at home to Salmon Arm on Wednesday while Rutland plays host to NorKam. Both games are scheduled for 4 p.m.
