They are the winners of the 2026 Okanagan Housing Awards put on by the 300-member Central Okanagan branch of the Canadian Home Builders' Association.
For instance, Dilworth Homes picked up the prestigious 'builder of the year' trophy at the 33rd annual awards gala held over the weekend at the Delta Grand hotel.
Besides developing the eponymous Dilworth Mountain community, Dilworth Homes is also building the neighbourhoods of Sage Water and Kuipers Peak, both in the Upper Mission, Tower Ranch around the golf course on the Rutland Bench and Shorerise in West Kelowna.
A modern lakeview mansion at Shoreline Estates built by Bellamy Homes won 'home of the year'.
Kevin Edgecombe, owner of Edgecombe Builders, was honoured with the 'lifetime achievement award'.
In his over 30 years of development, Edgecombe has built many award-winning custom homes as well as projects like the Sole micro-condominiums on St. Paul, downtown, KLO and Rutland, University Heights and LIV at McKinley Beach.
“These awards represent the highest level of excellence in our industry,” said Cassidy deVeer, executive officer of the Central Okanagan branch of the Canadian Home Builders' Association.
“Each winning project reflects the skill, creativity, and collaboration required to deliver exceptional homes in the Okanagan. The Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence are about recognizing leadership, innovation, and the people behind the work that continues to elevate housing quality throughout our communities.”
Ian Paine Construction and Design emerged as one of the evening’s most recognized firms, earning four awards, including the grand award for 'design firm of the year'.
In all, winners were announced in 37 categories.
Ian Paine received three awards in the design category, along with an additional award as a project partner with Richbuilt Custom Homes.
The Paine-Richbuilt win was also touted as a successful collaboration across project teams.
Another notable project recognized by the judges was Modern Emerald Cottage, designed by Magpie Interiors in collaboration with renovation experts Jessie J Contracting.
The project was celebrated for its thoughtful design and execution, with Magpie Interiors also earning two additional category awards, underscoring the firm’s design excellence across multiple project types.
On the support side, Adriatic Granite & Marble Works was named 'supplier of the year, while also earning recognition as a project partner in three award-winning categories.
Judging for the 2026 Okanagan Housing Awards of Excellence took place in November, with submissions evaluated by a panel of 14 award-winning judges from across Canada.
These awards recognize not only the vision of builders, renovators,designers, and suppliers, but also the collective efforts of the trades, consultants, and project teams whose collaboration brings these projects to life.
