Motorists are being advised of heavy snow expected on the Coquihalla and a portion of Highway 3.
Environment Canada issued the warning Thursday afternoon.
“A frontal system crossing Southern BC will bring snow to the Coquihalla Highway and Allison Pass tonight,” Environment Canada said.
“Precipitation is expected to change from rain to snow this evening.”

Between 10-20 cm of snow is expected overnight before easing Friday morning.
A few users on the Coquihalla Road Reports Facebook group have reported that the heavy rain has started between Merritt and Hope as of 1:30 pm.

Environment Canada says visibility on Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton and on Hwy 5 from Hope to Merritt will be reduced and drivers should prepare for potentially hazardous conditions.
Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions, the agency added.
