Two men are dead following a head-on collision on Hwy 97 near 70 Mile House.

Clinton RCMP were called to the scene around 2:15 pm on Thursday after a grey Chevrolet Cavalier and grey Mitsubishi Outlander collided.

Emergency crews arrived on scene to find the driver of the Chevrolet, a 70 Mile House man, had already died.

Despite the efforts of BC Emergency Health Services personnel, the driver of the Mitsubishi, a Tumblr Ridge man, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The BC Coroners Service is now investigating alongside RCMP Southeast District Central Interior Traffic Services.

Due to the privacy of the two men involved, their identities will not be released.
