An array of motorcycles were led through town by Santa Claus himself this past Sunday (September 24th), as part of The 32nd Kelowna Toy Run.

The event kicked off with The Salvation Army serving a breakfast of pancakes, sausage and coffee to over 200 people. At 10 a.m. Santa Claus jumped onto his motorcycle and led the group on their ride. In beautiful riding conditions, the crew rode up into Lake Country and over to Predator Ridge before returning to Kelowna. 

"This is the kick off toy drive event for The Salvation Army Christmas Blessing Campaign," stated Kim Burry, Christmas Toy Depot Coordinator. "We so appreciate Brendan Buttler for organizing the ride. This year we received hundreds of toys–Lego, dolls, games, puzzles and even a bicycle. This will enable to ensure families in our community have wonderful Christmas."

The Kelowna Toy Run also raised over $4500 is donations. Funds which will be used to purchase additional toys. 

"We love Christmas and we love toys," states Patty Lou Bryant, Communications Coordinator. "The Kelowna Toy Run gets the season started. Last year we helped over 500 families and provided over
1100 toys for children. We always have a need for teen gifts–movie passes, gift cards for iTunes, makeup sets and intricate construction models. The Kelowna Toy Run gets the shelves filled with amazing
gifts and we love the generosity of the community."
