  • Flair Airlines cancels expansion to Prince George

Flair Airlines has cancelled their summer schedule with Prince George.

In April, Flair announced the partnership with Prince George that would offer travellers ultra-low fare rates.

Included in this network were direct flights from Prince George to Edmonton, and Vancouver, with connection to Abbotsford, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto and Hamilton.

Flights were set to begin operating on June 15.

Yesterday, Flair announced that it will be cancelling its planned expansion to the Prince George International Airport.

“We want to make sure that when we contribute we make choices that affect the community,” said Julie Rempel, head of Communications and Marketing for Flair.

“In terms of Prince George, it is a unique place in Canada and when we put in a route it will provide connection to the east and west successfully.”

According to Rempel, Flair will not be backing out of Prince George entirely, rather they will be taking away their scheduled summer flights with the possibility of continuing on in the fall.

“When the time is right for both Flair and Prince George we will be making a comeback,” said Rempel.

Refunds for purchased flights are now available.
